If you like to be kept up to date with the latest word from your favorite newspapers or magazines through an RSS feed, you might encounter a few complications with regular RSS clients. Subscribing to a feed is not as straightforward as one would expect, but Winds can easily address this issue. It can help you keep track of your favorite RSS feeds and podcasts, discover new ones, manage them and more. The best part is that you don't have to go through a complicated process when you decide to follow one or more feeds.

Winds is free and open source, and you can have it up and running in no time. It works on all modern Windows platforms, and it doesn't ask for any special tools or drivers. The application doesn't use a significant amount of resources, so you can use it even on older machines.

The software is essentially a browser for podcasts and RSS feeds. When you launch it for the first time, you can pick one or more subjects of interest and the software will feed you RSS updates and podcasts based on your choices. It presents them in separate lists, on its main user interface, and you can explore the articles and episodes on a different page. If you're looking for something in particular, you can type its name in a search bar and the software will find it immediately.

The best part about Winds is that you don't have to create any entries and search for links when you wish to follow an RSS feed. You can read articles and start playing podcasts directly on the application's interface. You can even watch web videos if a podcast is published in this format. Additionally, the software lets you create folders, on the home page, and populate them with the podcasts and RSS feeds while you're exploring them.

New podcast episodes and the latest articles from your favorite newspapers and magazines can be at your fingertips thanks to Winds' straightforward design.

Pros

You can subscribe to RSS feeds and podcasts with only a few clicks. The application lets you organize content in folders. Its user interface has an efficient design and its controls are easy to master.

Cons

There are no serious issues to address.
